Petroleum Alliance Gubernatorial Candidate Forum
The two major party candidates seeking the state’s top executive office will discuss their thoughts on Oklahoma’s energy economy during a special Gubernatorial Candidate Forum for Petroleum Alliance members.
The forum with Kevin Stitt and Joy Hofmeister is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at The Petroleum Alliance headquarters, 500 N.E. 4th Street, Oklahoma City. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m.
Stitt, the Republican incumbent, is seeking his second term as Oklahoma’s governor, taking the office in 2018 after defeating Democrat Drew Edmondson as a political newcomer. The founder and former chairman and CEO of Gateway Mortgage Group, Stitt has positioned himself as a business-friendly public official.
Hofmeister, the Democratic challenger, currently serves as Oklahoma’s state superintendent of public education, a position she has held since 2015. Hofmeister is a former public school teacher and small business owner and served on the Oklahoma State Board of Education before becoming state superintendent.
