Petroleum Alliance applauds Trump administration’s revisions of emissions regulations
Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma President Brook A. Simmons issued the following statement applauding the Trump administration’s announcement of plans to revise emissions regulations imposed on the oil and natural gas industry by the Biden administration:
The Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma applauds the Trump administration’s decision to revise the unworkable OOOOb and OOOOc emissions regulations that threatened the viability of thousands of low-producing oil and natural gas wells across Oklahoma and the nation.
These costly, one-size-fits-all regulations placed an especially heavy burden on small producers. For many operators, the cost of compliance could exceed the value of the energy their wells produce, forcing otherwise productive wells to shut down.
At a time when our nation needs reliable, affordable American energy, we should keep these wells producing, not regulate them out of existence. We commend the Trump administration for recognizing the importance of American oil and natural gas producers and taking steps to protect small businesses, preserve jobs, and strengthen our nation’s energy security.
ABOUT THE PETROLEUM ALLIANCE – The Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma is the only trade association in Oklahoma that represents every segment of the oil and natural gas industry, representing more than 1,700 individual and member companies engaged in the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the state’s defining industry.
