New Continental Resources President and CEO Robert D. “Doug” Lawler will be the featured speaker at The Petroleum Alliance’s Jan. 18 Wildcatters Wednesday luncheon at the Oklahoma City Petroleum Club.

Lawler has spent more than three decades in the oil and natural gas industry and joined Continental in February 2022. Lawler transitioned to president and CEO at the start of 2023 upon the retirement of William Berry.

Lawler began his career with Kerr-McGee in 1988 and joined Anadarko Petroleum following its acquisition of Kerr-McGee in 2006. He served in numerous senior operational leadership positions during his tenure at Anadarko before moving to Chesapeake Energy Corporation as president and chief executive officer in 2013.
